IRIS
Boulder, CO | 2012
Set within a quiet neighborhood in Boulder, this residence reinterprets the familiar gabled form through a contemporary lens—refined, precise, and deeply rooted in place. The massing is composed as a series of shifted volumes, creating a dynamic silhouette that balances clarity with subtle complexity.
A restrained palette of charred wood, stone, and glass establishes a dialogue between solidity and transparency. The upper volume hovers above a more grounded base, where a continuous band of glazing softens the threshold between interior and landscape, bringing light deep into the home while maintaining privacy at the street.
